The restaurant is being relocated, and the "Rooftop Bar and Everything" has moved to a new location.

After many years on King Street, Hank's Oyster Bar moved to a new space in the northern part of the old city.

Chef Jamie Leeds said that the target opening date is early spring 2022, and Hank's Oyster Bar will continue to operate at 1026 King Street until it moves.

Leeds said on Facebook on Monday (in response to a resident's inquiry about the construction of the former Hank's Pasta Bar): "Hello everyone. Let me insert here. Yes, the cat is no longer there. In fact, I am moving Hank's Oyster Bar from King St. to 600 Montgomery. We had an incredible run at [King Street]. Thank you very much for the time there. We have been discussing this move since the pandemic hit. And because of my The lease expired. It makes sense for it to move and make it our flagship Hank's. Rooftop bars, etc. As we approach, please stay tuned for more information. The goal is to open in early spring 2022. Yes, King [ Street] will remain open until then."

The new address at 600 Montgomery Street is where Hank's Pasta Bar is located, followed by a new business in Leeds called Hank & Mitzi's, which opened during the pandemic and closed in June 2021. "Opening a restaurant during the global pandemic is not without its challenges. Even with dedicated employees and loyal customers, we found ourselves needing to pause, reorganize, and determine the best way to move forward in this field," Liz said at the time.

Hank's Oyster Bar opened in 2005 and is named after Leed's father Hank Leeds. In 2016, Leeds opened Hank's Cocktail Bar in Northwest DC. Followed by Hank's Oyster Bar and other companies on the dock.
