An entrepreneurship development programme on value addition of mushroom was organised for the stakeholders of Khordharani Producer Company Limited (KPCL) at KVK-Khordha on April 18 and 19.

The programme was jointly organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra-Khordha, ICAR-CIFA, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, ATMA, Banapur, Khordha and KPCL, Gambharimunda, Banapur, Khordha.

Earlier Dr Harapriya Nayak, welcomed the delegates. Senior Scientist and Head, KVK-Khordha  AK Dash highlighted the scope and importance of value added mushroom product.

He also encouraged the participant to start entrepreneur activities on mushroom for their nutritional security and income generation.

The trainees were imparted knowledge on paddy straw mushroom cultivation method, processing techniques and preparation of various value added products from paddy straw mushroom.

Skill oriented practical demonstration on value added mushroom production such as pickle, sauce, chutney and nuggets were imparted to the trainees along with suitable packaging for storage of the product.

A total of 36 trainees benefitted from the training programme.
