Even if you don’t condescend to roast turkey breast at any other time of the year, there are some comforting and nostalgic things about Thanksgiving dinner—warm, buttery yeast rolls, sweet potatoes and melted marshmallows. Things, and some green things make you feel virtuous. (To be honest, this is the Midwest, and the greens may involve jelly.)

But this is also 2021. We have been cooking for ourselves, and it feels like at least ten years. At the end of the New York Times cooking subscription, when the delicious video was running in the background, we fell into a nervous coma. Don't clean the house this Thanksgiving. It's totally ok to call it, I mean to book in a great place.

Our four selected dishes feature traditional dishes that are very well done, plus one or two surprises. More importantly, they can make reservations, so hurry up and book!

The most stylish new restaurant in The Town Company Downtown offers a prix fixe menu of traditional classic dishes for only $55 per person. Although these courses have not yet been posted online, their takeaway menu teases home-style dishes such as fireside grilled sausage and sage stuffing, wild rice casserole and buttermilk raw potatoes. Of course, turkey is served, in this case, it is charcoal grilled with oil-sealed legs and gravy, but for those looking for something different, choose smoked king oyster mushrooms with chickpeas and dates. Don't forget the pie-chocolate pecan praline pie, quite a few.

Affäre left it to the most fashionable German restaurant in town to enhance the family feast. For $70 per person, you can enjoy acorn squash soup or autumn salad, three main dishes, käsespätzle of your choice and two home-style vegetables. Add wine pairings for $30 and choose desserts for $12.

Is it a lot of food? Absolutely. But those power sources caught our attention. Adventurous diners can choose Great Lakes Walleye with Potatoes and Chives Seals or Roasted Elk with Pumpkin Bread Dumplings, not just turkey.

Do Gram and Dunn want to jump on the lights of the square? There is no better place in town than Gram and Dunn. Plaza's favorites offer a special Thanksgiving menu to please everyone in the family. Enjoy the traditional roast turkey with all the garnishes ($23), or pair it with a grilled swordfish and green bean casserole topped with tobacco onions ($29). Feels like beef? The premium ribs ($31) with goat cheese and mashed potatoes with chives will never disappoint. Do it all with a slice of pumpkin ($9) or apple pie ($10). Then sit down and watch the crowd roll in.
