AHCC is a mushroom extract derived from the Far East, including but not limited to shiitake mushrooms. The extracts used in most dietary supplements are prepared from the mycelium of several different basidiomycetes: shiitake mushrooms or shiitake mushrooms, after cultured in a liquid medium. It is a commonly used dietary supplement in Japan and is increasingly used in the United States and Canada.

In several clinical trials of AHCC, abdominal distension is the most common side effect. Other adverse reactions related to the gastrointestinal tract include nausea and, in rare cases, diarrhea in the test subject. In most cases, these complaints are short-term and will disappear within 24 hours of the onset of symptoms.

Some test subjects who started using AHCC complained of headaches and lack of energy.

After gastrointestinal discomfort, headaches and fatigue, the most common side effect reported by test subjects was foot cramps.

In a study of 26 healthy male and female subjects between the ages of 18 and 61, two subjects or 7% of subjects complained of nausea after eating a liquid suspension containing AHCC. A total of 6 people complained of short-lived (transitory) adverse reactions, including muscle cramps, headaches, diarrhea, and fatigue.

Researchers in the study concluded that 85% of test subjects can tolerate 9 grams of AHCC supplements per day, which is considered a high dose for adults. Other studies have found similar data on (different numbers) of adverse reactions or reactions to AHCC in healthy adult subjects.

AHCC has not been studied in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Since AHCC has been proven to stimulate the production of white blood cells, it is not recommended for anyone with autoimmune problems to increase the production of white blood cells. Common autoimmune problems include. There is insufficient data on the side effects of AHCC on pediatric patients or infants. Please keep this product out of reach of children.

It has been reported that AHCC has recently shown that one mechanism that affects and supports the immune system is to improve the response of the number of NK cells that can be used for antimicrobial cells in the body. This approach has been studied in various studies in solid tumor patients and patients currently responding to viral infections. In many cases, chemotherapy will reduce the number of these cells needed for immunity. Therefore, dietary supplements have always been the focus of scientists studying different methods of using shiitake mushroom extracts.

In the case of viral diseases, AHCC shows an increase in the percentage and number of NK cells in the spleen and lungs of mammals with influenza A. In most studies, it was found that the immune response improved during AHCC was part of the diet of the test subjects. Similar findings have been reported in several other cells and chemical components of the mammalian immune system. Several studies conducted over the past few years have shown the same results. These findings lead people to believe that AHCC contributes to a healthy immune response in adults.
